Front and center. It’s where I like to keep the herbs. I could put them into the pantry I guess but they’re so pretty - and I find I use them more when they are out and I see them each day. It’s like vitamins - they need to be within arm’s reach or it’s not happening. (Is that just me?) They are a reminder to eat with intention, create new things, and always get back on track when things fall away. NOURISHING METAL-VATA / In the current vulnerable season for Metal (aka Vata season in Ayurveda) it’s important to eat moist, soft, warming, hydrating foods. Steamed Asian Pear with Ginger, Herbs & Honey // 1 whole Asian pear cut and cored, 2 tsp grated ginger root split evenly between pear halves, few sprigs thyme and/or sage leaves. Assemble in steamer basket and fill with 1” water. Steam for ~12-15 minutes until tender and just softened, depending on size of pear. Drizzle with raw honey of choice and eat immediately. ✨.

A pediatric acupuncture session is usually more a combination of acupressure/bodywork, essential oils, a few baby needles perhaps, and a lot of love & curiosity. Kids are so responsive to energy medicine as their nervous and immune systems are still developing and not overburdened by decades of bad habits or stress… they are so adaptable to change. Treating my 4 yr old here today in this amazing twinkling light. Mango Lime Gelatin Bites //// Purée 1 whole ripe mango in blender until silky smooth. Add juice of ½ lime. Heat up mango juice on stove with 1 spoonful raw honey, until just simmering and then add 3 Tbsp beef gelatin powder 1 scoop at a time - dissolving each one completely with a whisk before adding another. Pour it into molds and set in fridge. So easy. Takes about 15 min. //// These little guys are so nice to have around for tiny, grabbing hands. When Woods kept asking for candy after Halloween - every day, naturally - I thought good God what can I do to distract him from this? Made some gelatin-rich fruit based gummies and they have worked like a charm! I used @vitalproteins Grass Fed Beef Gelatin that is totally flavorless. I love giving them a treat I have zero guilt about. 💛💛.

I’ve found a new friend named Fond. I’ve been buying @fondbonebroth at Wheatsville Food Co-op lately and not only does it make life super easy - all the flavors they make are really wonderful. It tastes way better than when I make my one bone broth! Not sure what their secret is 🤔. These two are my current favorites - Trolley Dodger & The Spur. When I’m feeling depleted or run down- I make a small bowl of simmered veggies in bone broth for breakfast or snack daily during the week to build up my mineral and nutrient reserves. The kids love this simple “soup” too so it’s a win/win. I’m trying to go through October with bone broth every day to see how I feel and Fond, in all it’s gelatinous goodness, is helping with this process immensely! No time to buy the chicken feet?
